Founding Partner

Katia is the founding partner of the firm and has vast experience in the corporate area, with an emphasis on foreign investment, tourism, project financing, real estate transactions, and business planning for national and international companies in the Dominican Republic, among others.

Her professional experience includes the legal direction of the Cap Cana tourist project; she has also worked in the main firms in the country where she has excelled in the areas of commercial law, foreign investment, tourism, and real estate.

She graduated Magna Cum Laude, from law school at Universidad Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña (UNPHU), Santo Domingo in 1989. She has a Postgraduate Degree in International Law and Organization for Development from the Institute of Social Studies, The Hague, The Netherlands, (1994). She attended the Environment and Sustainable Development during the Structural Reforms Program, at The University of West Indies, Kingston, Jamaica (1995). In 1998 she attended the Harvard Law School’s Negotiation Program for lawyers, and the “Project Financing: Building Infrastructure Projects in Developing Markets” program at the Practicing Law Institute, New York, NY, USA (2001).
